Happy Birthday Singapore for your Golden Jubilee celebration!
I recently visited Padang where the National Day Parade will be held during this Jubilee Weekend and was deeply impressed how meticulously Singaporeans have been preparing for this. I sensed the profound national identity and pride during all the preparation, including the repeated exercises of the “Five Stars” and "50" Tribute Aerial Flypast, as well as the display of the national flag at every corners of HDBs all over the island.
Also in this month of August, we have the long awaited opening of Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA). JCC has joined SIFA to present the very Japanese "Chindon-ya" (Japanese Walking Advertisement cum Street Performers) on 12th, 13th, and 14th evening at the National Library Drama Centre Theatre, Amphitheatre of Marsiling Lane, and Victoria Theatre respectively.
You may find this as an advance announcement for following "Dance Marathon" which is also featuring some Japanese contemporary choreographers who are jointly making dance performances with other international artists. Please take advantage of this wonderful summer to join this international festival of arts (https://sifa.sg/sifa/).
